ABOUT ANNECY
Annecy is a beautiful small town, located in the southeastern part of France, by the Alps. The area is a perfect location for artists and offers spectacular mountain scenery and small villages with cobbled streets and pastel-colored houses. Annecy is surrounded by mountains and located on the banks of the 27 sq km Lake Annecy. The lake is well known for its beauty and clean water and the town is called the Venice of the North due to its many canals that run through the town.
The Old Town of Annecy offers you a stroll into history. In this alluring medieval area, which was built around a 14th century chateau, we will visit the St. Peter’s Cathedral, museums, and lively markets. Due to the narrowness of the lanes, most of the old town is pedestrianized, and is full of small bars, restaurants and boutiques in the arcaded streets and alleys.
During the days we will visit the neighboring small towns, enjoy the natural scenery – and also go on a Lake Safari on Lake Annecy. In the afternoons we will gather back at our hotel, have aperitifs and critiques before going out for dinner.
Staying in Annecy also allows us to try all the local food, cheeses, wines, chocolates. The region of Savoie is a cheese lovers paradise; fondue and raclette are on many restaurants’ menus. The area is famous for its beautiful scenery, but when it comes to the food, it is a gourmet paradise!

Lodging: Le Boutik Hotel
The Boutik Hotel is one of the most personal and creative hotels we've ever seen. Each room is designed in a unique way, and there are fun antiques scattered around the hotel. The breakfast is plentiful and tasty. There is a small garden where we can play a game of boule after we are done painting! The location could not be better, a few minutes walk for the center of Annecy.
