The Mallorca Art Escape

AN ARTIST PAINTING RETREAT

An Art Retreat on the Mediterranean Island of Mallorca

The Mediterranean island of Mallorca has long served as a sanctuary for creative minds, drawing legendary painters, writers, poets, and musicians to its shores for centuries. Visionaries like Frédéric Chopin, Joan Miró, and the writer Robert Graves all chose to make this vibrant island their home, capturing its magic in their timeless works. This retreat invites you to step into that same legacy, finding fresh inspiration in Mallorca's breathtaking landscapes and unique natural light.

Throughout our journey, we will explore the island's most scenic corners, traveling from dramatic coastal cliffs overlooking the turquoise Mediterranean Sea to the quiet, stone-walled villages tucked away in the Tramuntana mountain range. Every location offers a distinct backdrop designed to spark your creative vision and fill your sketchbook or canvas.

This is a non-instruction retreat open to artists of all skill levels working in any medium. While there are no formal lessons, you will benefit most from this immersive experience if you already have some independent painting or drawing experience. It is the perfect opportunity to create at your own pace alongside a supportive community of fellow creators.

ABOUT THE RETREATS AND THE AREA:

During this week in Mallorca, we will explore the island, its many scenic areas - from the gorgeous views over the Mediterranean Sea to the small quaint towns in the Tramuntana mountain range:

Fornalutx, one of the prettiest villages of Spain, with its cobbled streets and terracotta roofs, surrounded by well-tended orange and lemon groves.

The artist town of Deia, home to celebrities such as Michael Douglas, perched in a ravine at the foot of the Teix mountain, with views out to the Mediterranean below and with an interesting museum dedicated to the writer Robert Graves.

Valldemossa, once a home for Frederic Chopin and George Sands, with art galleries, a 400 year old olive estate, outdoor cafes and restaurants.

Soller, a charming town with an impressive cathedral, dating from the 1200s and a botanical garden with many endangered local plant species.

Palma, once a laid-back capital, now a cosmopolitan city, with a bustling city center and a preserved old town.
