A Sketchbook Journaling Workshop with Karen Ramsay
Come join us and capture Provence in watercolor! As we fill our art travel journals with sketching and watercolors, Karen will give us tips and tricks for improving this special skill. Sketching on location, while traveling, is an art form that you can take with you on every future trip. The daily sketches that you create will become a treasured visual diary of your travel.
Karen Ramsay
From an early age, Karen Ramsay has had a love for drawing and painting. She is a graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver and has been featured in the Big Sky Journal as an "Artist of the West”. Other accolades include: Paint The Poudre: People's Choice Award, Wild About Colorado: Best of Show and the Colorado Watercolor Society: Member Show Award.

The hotel has a perfect location in the center of Bonnieux. It is possible to walk to restaurants, shops and galleries. The hotel has a lovely garden, a small pool, plenty of space to paint indoors after our excursions! The breakfast is extraordinary and can be taken in the dining room that has a panoramic view over the beautiful valley below.
About the area
We will stay in the Medieval town of Bonnieux, situated on a steep cliff with many hilly streets and overlooking the valley below. The architecture of Bonnieux, which was a papal town for about 500 years, has kept all its authenticity, its fountains and washhouses, its old church - and a view that is worth it all.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP AND THE AREA:
This is a not-to-miss immersive workshop. Each day includes demos, one-on-one instruction, critiques, and tips on painting the colors, sights and memories of Provence.
Excursions to neighboring towns provide opportunities to find beautiful scenes for sketches that can become larger paintings. You will head for home with memories of your experiences during this wonderful week tucked in your suitcase.
Our excursions include visits to Roussillon with the world famous Ochre trail and mines, Lourmarin, with a market that has EVERYTHING(!), and l'Isle sur la Sorgue, with its distinctive water wheels!
