A Plein Air Watercolor Painting Workshop with Kathleen Lanzoni
Join us in Stockholm in 2027, as Kathleen Lanzoni takes a group of watercolor painters on this trip to the beautiful capital of Sweden. We will have 6 special days together; plein air painting sceneries in Stockholm: the medieval old town, the archipelago and the royal palaces outside of the city. You will receive personal painting instruction each day. Whether you are a novice or experienced painter, this trip will be fun and an educational experience for all!
Kathleen Lanzoni is an award-winning signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society, the Western Colorado Watercolor Society, the Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Society and the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies. She was formally trained at the Art Institute of Boston and the Massachusetts College of Art, receiving a BFA, and now lives and paints in Colorado.

We will stay at the charming Hotel Wellington in Stockholm.
This hotel provides a wonderful oasis of tranquillity in this bustling Nordic capital, with a homely atmosphere and elegant interior design.
The hotel has a wonderful location, walking distance to shops and to the sea of Mälaren and its harbor at Nybroviken.
Bring your swim suit if you like to try the hotel's sauna!
Summer is the best time to visit Sweden, to take advantage of the midnight sun. The Swedish summer is not merely a season; it's a celebration of life, light, and the breathtaking beauty that graces this Nordic paradise. Picture-perfect landscapes come alive during summer, adorned with lush greenery, vibrant wildflowers, and tranquil lakes reflecting the endless blue sky.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP AND THE AREA:
You will be met at Arlanda (ARN), Stockholm’s largest airport. Together we will travel to the hotel, located in the city center.
During the week In Stockholm we will go on several excursions to paint and discover this beautiful city.
We will visit the centuries old Gamla Stan (Old Town) and paint in its central square: Stortorget. Another day we will visit Skansen, the world's oldest open air museum, full of traditional houses, old homesteads, gardens etc - lots to paint!
Stockholm has a unique archipelago and one of the days we will take the ferry to visit and paint on one of these islands.
Drottningholh Palace is where the royal family lives today and this will be another painting destination during our week in this city called "the Venice of the North".
You are never far from water in Stockholm, the city was built on 14 islands. Today the islands are easily reached by car, trains and boats.
